Message The weather turned around for us last night and by midnight the skies were clear and it was pretty chilly. Today's weather ended up being pretty nice for tracking.

Big thanks to Vik Saini and the crew who put this event together - I had a wonderful time. Looking forward to more events like this in the future!

Here's the track:

I got 4 runs in today, three of which were for 10 minutes each and the third was stopped a few minutes into the run as one of the throttlebody couplers popped off. There was easily 30+ minutes of total track time. Max speed was around 80MPH.

The electric cooling system worked flawlessly - the hottest the engine got up to was 208F - no leaks, no problem.

My base boost is set to 18psi and it makes you really work to hold traction - you definately can't stab the gas pedal as she will spin all through 3rd and 4th gear (although you are mostly in 2nd and 3rd gear on this track layout). I want to lower the base boost to around 14-15psi though - the setup is very streetable - plenty of bottom end grunt to get her out of the turns quickly but that 18psi base pressure is just too high for this kind of racing.

Got some standing video and some pics of the Z on the track today - motion video was captured within the car with a mounted camera (hopefully to have that video available soon - it wasn't my camera setup). The standing video really doesn't do it any justice though - it almost looks like I'm just out for a Sunday cruise, LOL. Fastest lap was 1:08 and this time fell somewhere around 2nd to 4th position out of 20 cars (I left a bit before the event shut down so I didn't get the final numbers), but my only point there is that I definately wasn't babying the car.

To say the least, I am very happy with the results of the car. I mean, it is always rewarding to have a nice ride on the road but that's not what I mean - the powerplant performance aspect is just ridiculous. The car was pretty much dialed in suspension-wise - the only thing I did was lower the compression/rebound of the front AGX shocks to give a little better steering response - she was wanting to understeer a bit. After that, getting her through the turns and rolling out with the car where I wanted her to be was no problem at all. Two things I would have changed would have been at least some Victoracers and a bit lower base boost. Other than that, I couldn't have asked for more - I'm just happy that she's not going home on a flatbed - everything else is gravy. =)

I'll put up the in-car video when I receive it though - should be pretty interesting. :)

(tire smoke - got her a little checked up in this turn)

And the video (unedited 1 clip of two)

There were several different cars in the group - Supra, SHOs, Integra, S2000, Mustangs, Viper, GTO, two other Zs. Good day, I met a few new Z owners and re-met a number of familiar faces - thanks for the kind words and I look forward to coming back soon!
